The pleasure of knowing how to swim

Knowing how to swim gives your child the ability to swim safely, everywhere (swimming pool, water park, water body). At school, its acquisition is an objective from the CM1 class (from 8 years old).

Knowing how to swim also allows them to access any aquatic or nautical activity (sail, kayaking, etc.) that can be programmed as part of compulsory school lessons or outside the school framework.

To go into something in depth

Additional knowledge and attitudes will be taught to him in order to acquire even more autonomy
such as:

  • Know how to identify the person responsible for the surveillance to be alerted in case of a
    problem
  • Know the basic rules related to hygiene and safety in a pool or supervised space
  • Know how to identify the environments and circumstances for which the mastery of swimming
    skills is adapted.

The acquisition of these skills is possible from the age of 6 through an internship of a dozen 40-
minute sessions.

As your child becomes secure, you will also gain serenity.

The objectives

Our commitment is to transmit to your child, at home, in ideal conditions to learn at his own pace, the ability to achieve this:

Enter the water

From the edge of the pool, enter the water falling forward and backward (Diving, jumping)

Learn your first mouvement

Move on your stomach for a distance of 15 meters or more (depending on the length of your pelvis)

Maintain your balance

Make a vertical hold for a few seconds and then resume the movement to finish the distance over the length of the pool

Master the transitions

Know how to make a U-turn without resuming support and move from a ventral position to a dorsal position

Swimming on your back

Move on your back on the width of the pelvis

Swimming on the back

Know how to make a stand-in in a dorsal horizontal position for a few seconds, then resume the movement to finish its pelvis length

Discover the immersion

Know how to overcome an obstacle in complete immersion

The purpose is to be able to follow a path putting all these tasks into practice.
